I am a Learning and Organisational Development professional with a deep passion for people, learning, and management & leadership development. As a result of consulting for a large professional services firm across circa 40 public and private sector organisations in the UK, and a background in mental health, I work to inspire transformational change in people and organisations creating positive working cultures that ultimately drive greater performance.
To enable this, being able to effectively use diverse perspective, diversity of thought, and systemic thinking is crucial. I believe that these tools are central to learning and development. However, experience has taught me that there is a great deal of misunderstanding and limited interpretations of what diversity actually is, who it concerns, and how it is connected to effective people management and development.
Covering a host of topical areas in HR and learning and organisational development, diversity-is is a straight-talking blog – aimed at setting the record straight: diversity is about you; your life story, your skills, your experiences, your talent. It is about how your diversity, and the collective diversity of others, is strategically indispensable for improving people and organisational performance – particularly in the 21st century global workplace.
