Diversity concerns ‘the individual’.
It is neither about the individual seen as an equality target to be met, nor as an ‘ethnicity’, ‘gender’ or ‘disability’ statistic to balance workforce databases, but rather about the unique individual seen as a hub of cross socio-cultural talent with creative abilities. The sourcing, identification and development of this talent through fair, inclusive and transparent (FIT) processes leading to talent maximisation within an organisation is the overall strategic concern of diversity.
Diversity is about ensuring an organisation remains fit for 21st century purpose through the effective management and utilisation of its people (or talent) in a way that promotes individuality and fosters its competitive advantage.
