Yes, diversity is about difference.
It is about the underlying and fundamental unity in difference that characterises us as fellow human beings, which if harnessed appropriately leads to untold benefits. The task for diversity however is to re-focus and disentangle our understanding of ‘difference’ from a negative connotation to a fundamentally positive one!
The argument for the practice of diversity strongly suggests that organisations take advantage of the immense opportunity and richness that difference presents in the organisation and turn them into a core business strategy that facilitates productivity, heightened organisational performance and profitability.
